AJ Wears :: A Layered Crop

Well, I'm officially not homeless anymore. We closed on our condo, moved all of our junk in, and I'm feeling this renewed sense of joy with my closet. I don't know if it's because we were separated for three weeks or just seeing stuff in a new light because it's in a different closet, but getting dressed has been fun again.

This outfit was a big hit on the instastories last week. The shirt is one I bought at Dillard's one day because I didn't like my outfit and had plans after work. The crop is from Everlane, bought with the idea that I'd pair it with high-waisted pants or skirts but never got around to wearing. And the pants you've seen before, a prize pair I found on sale after deciding I was going to dress more like Rachel Zoe. It's one of those outfits that I just felt great wearing, you know?  And you know I love a good, "Wait until you see the back!" moment.

Top, BCBG (exact - on sale!).
Crop, Everlane.
Pants, ABS (similar from Macy's).
Bag, Coach (similar color from Target).

AJ Wears :: Rainbow Pants

You ever see something on someone else and make the mistake of thinking, "Hey, I will look exactly that cute in that outfit!"

That's what's happening here. Sure, the girl on Instagram wearing these pants was taller and thinner but in my head I thought, YES, LET'S COVER MY BODY IN COLORFUL STRIPES like I'm Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat or something. Are these the most flattering pants in the world? Absolutely not. Do I care? Absolutely not.

PS - if you'd really like to see what nightmares are made of, check out the matching top. Yep, it's a set, and if you think I won't wear them together you don't know me at all.

Pants, Free People (exact).
Top, Lush via Trunk Club.
Bag & Shoes, JustFab.
Necklace, BaubleBar.

AJ Wears :: A Leather Vest

Did I forget to blog in June?

Honestly, it's been a whirlwind of stuff the past month. We sold our house, packed up everything we own into a 12x9 Pod, and embarked on homelessness for two weeks while we wait to close on our new place. I'm currently in the second week of homelessness, staying in a friend's basement and wearing the same outfit every day.

The outfit you see here is one I managed to salvage from a suitcase and throw together for dinner with friends that were in town from Dallas. The hair isn't so much washed as it was "watered", but I passed for a fairly normal person that night at Sushi Cafe considering that mere hours earlier I was wearing an outfit for the third consecutive day: Gap yoga pants and a "Puppies Make Me Happy" tank top.

We close on Friday. Just a few more days until I live out of boxes instead of a suitcase.

Vest, c/o JustFab (exact - also comes in red!).
Dress, Treasure & Bond via TrunkClub (exact - one of my favorite summer finds! Just trust me and buy it.).
Heels, JustFab (similar).
Bag, Gucci.
Necklace, BaubleBar.
