AJ Wears :: A black and white print dress

I've always loved buying a new dress for an event. Birthday, cocktail party, even just a planned night out merits a new dress. And then, I exercise the bad habit of never wearing it again, because I hang out with the same people and they've already seen it. What a WASTE, right?

So when I planned on attending "Fashion Hour" at the Capital Hotel in Little Rock last night, I knew I had to be dressed to the nines. In the past, that would have been a buying new dress. Except for the same price as a dress from Forever 21, I could RENT a $600 dress. Score.

It fit like a glove, was so fun to wear, and is now on it's way back to New York City where some other girl can love it for four days. It practically paid for itself in compliments! This isn't a sponsored post or paid advertisement, but it IS a rave review for Rent the Runway. I'm a fan. I have a black tie event coming up next month that I had to rent a ballgown for, so I decided to give the service a whirl first for last night's event...and I loved it.

The fact is, I spent the same amount I would have (or less, even) on a dress far nicer and cooler than I would have gotten. For the night, I am a fashion rock star, and I get to wear something I may never have had the opportunity otherwise. I'll definitely consider using RTR in the future for special events...especially since I ponied up the extra for a year of Pro (free insurance and shipping!).
