My style icon is a fictional character. Dr. Zoe Hart (Hart of Dixie - cutest show ever) has perfect city-chic style - with just a hint of girly glam. Rachel Bilson is a fellow shorty and usually nails it in real life as well, so I'm constantly pulling sartorial inspiration from her. At one point, I even looked up all of the brands she normally wears on the show so I could start shopping those to further refine my style.
One Zoe Hart's favorite designers is Rebecca Taylor; I'm a big fan myself, but most of her tops run in the $200-300s and that's pretty pricey for most people. But good things come to those who wait - after seeing this top on Dr. Hart, I was able to score it for a little over $60 (originally $265!). I plan on eventually writing a blog on how to get great deals on designer pieces, but most of the tips you probably already know. This was scored from Saks Off 5th with a coupon code for a little extra off.
....and that's the face I make when my husband tells me my camera isn't focusing properly. I've had focus issues with this camera ever since I upgraded to a prime lens, so it might be time to upgrade my camera body as well. Perhaps with all of the cash I saved on this shirt, I'll be able to tuck some away towards a new DSLR. Boom.
