Haul: February Birchbox & MyGlam

Hello darlings! I'm kind of a subscription service junkie (clearly). I love getting things in the mail, so sub services like MyGlam and Birchbox just make sense to me. I love getting samples and I've found a lot of fantastic products I actually use and want to buy through these boxes (more on that later).

Anywho, this month's unboxing video is a little late, but I had to take the time to set up my new AJWearsClothes YouTube channel first.

So here's the skinny for those of you who don't want to watch this ridiculously long 9 minute video (also some of my opinions have changed since I made it!)

GlamBag - this month, still good, but lots of stuff wasn't that interesting to me. I LOVED the cute little pink heart bag and the NYX eyeshadow was a nice big sample (I'm assuming it's probably full size). And a $100 giftcard to Nu.Me is so great! It'll go a long way to buying a back up iron to my Chi (who knows, I might switch completely).

BirchBox WAS a little disappointing on opening, mostly because I was missing an entire sample. The BB girls were on top of it though and tossed 100 BB points my way ($10 in the store, rock!) and I was perfectly happy with that as I've been eying several items lately. THEN I actually used the samples, and I'm glad I did.

A) The stick on eyeliners are kind of a fail. I thought I loved the idea and the first time I wore the simplest, plainest ones I loved them. But the big ridiculous ones looked just that - ridic. And they refused to stick on my inner eye so I won't be purchasing them again.

B) HOWEVER. The travel puff = AMAZING. I love it so much! I said it was only 2-3 applications on the video, but after some research I discovered it's actually good for up to 20 applications! The puff costs $10 on its own but BB does not sell it in their store, which is a crying shame because I would buy these in a heartbeat. I love love love love it. It's so easy to use, perfect for travel or days you don't feel like pulling out everything in your make up bag, and the coverage is so good you don't even need concealer or a finishing powder. I'm obsessed. I'll probably buy the normal compact just because I love the makeup so much (this is coming from a die-hard Bare Minerals girl, too!) but the travel puff is the real winner here.
