My sister texted me earlier this week and asked where she could get some business casual clothes, as she was now an office worker. I said Limited, seeing as all of my favorite office attire came from there, and every single one of my full suits. So she inspired me to throw together a few office appropriate ideas using my 30x30 clothes.
Today's office look is perfect for summer - a blousy bow-tie top from Forever 21, a fun graphic print skirt and studded belt from The Limited, and a pale pink bag from ShoeDazzle to hold all of my office baubles (finished off with my Zara heels). The key element in this look is cheap - I snagged the skirt on final sale for only $10, and my top was XXI cheap at $19. You don't have to buy the most expensive items to look office appropriate AND chic.
And I think the entire point in keeping your identity is by playing with what you can. If you're required to wear a jacket, make it a fun color. If a skirt and blouse is fine, play with fun prints. And fun shoes and accessories can add personality to any ensemble.
